Scholarships & Fellowships

To apply for an undergraduate scholarship or graduate fellowship, scroll to the bottom of this page and fill out the attached form.

Applicant Eligibility

Scholarship Eligibility: Applicants are restricted to Brothers and New Members enrolled in a Chi Psi host institution as an undergraduate in the current academic year (meaning that seniors graduating this Spring ARE STILL ELIGIBLE).  Criteria for selection include academic merit and leadership in Chi Psi, on campus, and in the community.

Fellowship Eligibility: Applicants are restricted to Chi Psi Brothers that are entering or currently enrolled in a graduate program. Criteria for selection include academic merit and leadership in Chi Psi, on campus, and in the community.

Application Deadline

Applications will remain open until May 3rd at midnight. You will have until May 10th to submit your supporting materials.

Supporting Materials

The supporting items below must be received by 11:59pm on May 10th, 2023 in order for your application to be considered. Please submit all supporting materials files in the following format:

  • Personal Statement (PDF)
    • 500-word limit
    • Use your personal statement to introduce yourself to the Scholarship Selection Committee and elaborate on your:
      • Background
      • Academic, personal, and/or professional achievements
      • Involvement in and contributions to Chi Psi, your campus, and the community
      • Optional: financial need and/or how your funds would be used
  • Resume (PDF)
  • Headshot (JPEG or PNG)
    • A good quality photo of yourself in professional attire

To be submitted separately:

  • Official Transcript
    • Transcripts must be sent directly from your host institution
    • Please have your institution email your transcript to scholarships@chipsi.org if possible
    • If this is not an option, you may have a hard copy sent to the Chi Psi Central Office at 45 Rutledge Street, Nashville, TN 37210
  • Letter of Recommendation (PDF)
    • Letters of Recommendation can come from Chi Psi Brothers, academic professors, professional associates, etc.
    • Submit via email to scholarships@chipsi.org

OPTIONAL - Addenda for Specific Scholarships and Fellowships

Peter Paul Miller Travel Grant

  • This award is available for both packaged study abroad programs and those more freeform and unique educational experiences developed by the participant. Eligible participants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and must meet the general scholarship or fellowship requirements held by The Chi Psi Educational Trust.
  • Addendum should detail how the grant will be used, what you hope to gain from the experience, and a breakdown of the associated costs.

Tom Brown Memorial Scholarship

  • Awarded to an undergraduate student exhibiting a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Addendum should detail the applicant’s entrepreneurial endeavors.

Peter Schenck Scholarship

  • Awarded in honor of Peter Schenck, EΔ '59 to a Brother who, through the selfless dedication of time and effort, has contributed to the overall success of his Alpha.
  • Addendum should be a letter of recommendation from a Brother able to demonstrate the ways in which the applicant has contributed to his Alpha above and beyond the manner expected.
